Production Cook

Flying Star Foods, the Kitchen and Bakery manufacturing operations for Flying Star Cafe and Satellite Coffee, has an immediate opening for a production cook. Must be able to work Monday through Friday from 5 am to 1 pm.

Tasks include:

• Set up work station with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
• Follow recipes, including preparing, measuring, weighing, and mixing ingredients
• Ensure ingredients and final products are to quality standards
• Prepares final products for packaging and distribution of foods to our cafes
• Grill, steam and boil meats, vegetables, fish, poultry and other foods
• Maintain a clean and safe work area, including handling equipment
• Handle and store ingredients and food properly
• Maintain food safety and sanitation standards

Qualifications/Skills/Physical Requirements:

• Minimum 6 months of experience in restaurant cooking, “Cook from scratch” experience preferred
• Applicants must be 18 years old and be eligible for work in the United States
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment
• Basic written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environments
• Ability to multitask and organize
• Ability to work as a team member
• Follow directions and instructions.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to reach, bend, squat, and lift up to 75 lbs. while on shift
• Ability to withstand frequent exposure to smoke, steam, high temperatures, humidity, and extreme cold.
